Its OK to fall in love with this 1971 Chevelle SS454 ragtopand#44; because we already have. Big power from a big block under the hood gives it the go to match its showand#44; which is a stunning Copper and white paint job and tastefully finished interior. We sell a lot of Chevellesand#44; but not many of them talk to us like this one does. Chevy didnt build a Chevelle this nasty in 1971and#44; and one look will tell you all you need to know about it. From the spectacular code 67 Classic Copper paint over laser-straight bodywork to the correctly-executed details like the blacked-out grille and SS emblemsand#44; it certainly looks like few other Chevelles youll see at shows. A cowl-induction hood with locking pins reinforces the performance lookand#44; but if youre wearing 454 badgesand#44; it doesnt take much to be intimidating. It does carry a functional cowl-induction hood and the stripes are buried under the clear for a seamless look. Im a fan of the 1971 single-headlight front-endand#44; and the beautifully chromed bumpers make a powerful statement against the metallic paint. If you dont think this thing looks fast just sitting stilland#44; get your head examined. The handsome Saddle interior has also been honed to a razor-sharp edge in terms of both style and function. Bucket seats and a console strongly suggest this is a real SSand#44; as do the round gauges in the dashand#44; which are in excellent condition. Theres a Hurst T-handle shifter for the Muncie M22 rock crusher underneathand#44; as well as an auxiliary oil pressure gaugeand#44; but those are the only major deviations from stock. Ohand#44; and theres a newer AM/FM/iPod stereo neatly settled into the dash with a set of giant speakers on the rear benchand#44; but theyre easy to remove for shows and passengers. The seatsand#44; carpetsand#44; door panelsand#44; and dash pad are in very good condition with no cracks or tears in the materialand#44; with parts like the arm rests looking to be original equipment. The contrasting white convertible top fits well and offers a glass rear window and fitted Saddle bootand#44; while the trunk offers a reproduction mat and a full-sized spare. Dont worryand#44; this Chevelle has the horsepower to cash the checks its bodywork is writing. Its a 454 cubic inch big block topped by an Edelbrock intake and Holley 4-barrel carband#44; both hidden under the cowl-induction air cleanerand#44; as well as an MSD ignition system with bright red wires. Theres also a bit of chrome for an OEM lookand#44; as well as Chevy Orange paint and even properly marked hoses and hose clamps. Its a little dirtyand#44; but a deep cleaning would make it really popand#44; and given how it runsand#44; it might just not matter anyway. Long-tube headers feed a 2.5-inch dual exhaust system with Flowmastersand#44; and you know nothing sounds better than a big block with a healthy exhaust system. Theres a 12-bolt rear end with 3.73 gears and a Posi unit insideand#44; and the clutch and flywheel are brand newand#44; installed at the same time as the Muncie. Correct SS wheels with charcoal centers look great and are wrapped in 235/60/15 white-letter radials for the perfect muscle car look. Yesand#44; its every bit as awesome as it looks in photos.
