Bigand#44; badand#44; and brutaland#44; this sparkling silver 1971 Chevelle SS is the muscle car youve always dreamed of owning. Tons of power thanks to a built big blockand#44; a classic hi-performance lookand#44; and finish quality thatll make you the star at the local cruise night. This is muscle car done right. Its a good thing they ditched the original Cottonwood Green paint and gave this Chevelle a coat of bright Cortez Silver instead. Superbly finishedand#44; the sleek metallic paint always looks right on the A-body and you can see from our photos how it highlights the dramatic body lines that are obscured with some of the more ordinary colors. Look at the gentle crease that defines the fender linesand#44; the subtle flare of the rear quartersand#44; and the peak that runs from the roof down to the rear bumperand#44; all of which are often overlooked on lesser cars. Those details stand out because someone spent the time to keep them visibleand#44; and thats not cheap. They also laid down some proper black SS stripesand#44; which have a bit of metallic in the mix are buried under the clear for a super slick look and an impossible shine. You can also forget about wax build-up on the edgesand#44; which makes lesser cars look unfinished. Shiny chrome bumpersand#44; polished stainless detailsand#44; and proper SS badges throughout ensure this car wont get overlooked. And just in case anyone doubts the performance withinand#44; theres a cowl-induction hood with locking pins and proper 454 emblems on the fenders. Much of the black bucket seat interior was replaced during the restoration and expertly done to make this car stand out in a crowd. Buckets in an SS are the only way to flyand#44; and youll find its easy to get comfortable behind the wheel. Since its a color change (the cowl tag says it originally carried Rapallo clothand#44; which is kind of tan)and#44; everything thats black is brand newand#44; from the door panels to the seat coversand#44; headliner to carpets. The dash is full of proper SS gaugesand#44; including a tach and someone has also added a transmission temperature and oil pressure gauge on the A-pillarand#44; vital for proper performance. This one is built for combatand#44; but theres plenty of luxuryand#44; including A/Cand#44; a consoleand#44; power steering and power brakesand#44; which are pretty much mandatory when theres this much horsepower on board. A newer AM/FM stereo lives in the original dash slot and powers custom speakers in the kick panelsand#44; while the trunk is properly finished with a correct mat atop spatter-finish paint. Beautiful cosmetics asideand#44; this car is really about the powerplantand#44; and its a doozie. 454 cubic inches of Chevy big block topped by an Edelbrock intakeand#44; a big 4-barrel carband#44; and long-tube headers to make it cackle. Its very clearly hardware-focused under the hoodand#44; with that big cowl-induction air cleaner and chrome valve covers to set it offand#44; and a modern billet accessory drive improves reliability and looks. It starts easily and rumbles like its making a threat at idleand#44; and you can be sure that theres torque everywhere on the tach. A giant radiator keeps it cool without effortand#44; and thanks to the 700R4 4-speed automatic transmissionand#44; its a very civilized cruiser at speed. The undercarriage isnt detailed for show but the hardware is what youd expectand#44; including the Flowmaster mufflers and a heavy-duty 12-bolt rear end hanging on boxed control arms. 20-inch wheels keep the muscle car look while adding staggered 245/40/18 front and 275/30/20 rear performance radials. Brutally fastand#44; exceptionally prettyand#44; and totally ready to rumbleand#44; this Chevelle is the car youve admired but never thought you would own. Dont waitand#44; call today! |
