| Details: | 1971 Chevrolet Corvette 454 Coupe This super low miles big-block coupe has been well taken care of over the years and represents a true American sports car classic. The previous owner spent a huge amount of money in restoring the car back to its original glory and current condition. Included in this sale is a hug scrapbook of vendors and professional shops that created the car in its current condition. The cars fit and finish is better than excellent with correct door and hood gaps and no apparent cracks or evidence of bodywork anywhere. The cars paint is excellent with no apparent scratches, nicks or damage issues to speak of. No additional body or paint work has been done since last worked on. The original color, Brands Hatch Green was part of a limited production of 3,445 from the factory. The interior is excellent with no ripped or worn panels or damage to the upholstery. All of gauges operate as do most of the controls. The aftermarket radio is an AM/FM Cassette version and in the dash without disturbing any original components. The air conditioning has all of the components in place, but needs a shot of freon to be icy cold. The windshield wipers work but the door located between the windshield and hood does not, the result of a vacuum problem, common to these classics, although not an expensive repair. The big 454 cu in, 365 hp engine roars to life and appears to have all of the period correct ignition shielding and various stock Corvette components in the engine compartment. The Hurst shifter works very smoothly, yet for the purists out there, the stock shifter and linkage is included in the sale. The t-tops are in great shape with no issues to speak of with all of the correct hardware operating as it should. The car is equipped with power brakes and power steering, both working just fine. The engine, carb, distributor and transmission are all numbers matching. The wheels along with beauty rings and center caps are all original to the car. The tires are slightly larger than original and look and feel wonderful. The glass and chrome are all in excellent condition. |
