Details: Finding a Corvette you can drive and enjoy is sometimes easier said than done. So many have been cutand#44; hackedand#44; or just abused that finding a tightand#44; cleanand#44; matching-numbers C3 with no needs can be daunting. But this Brands Hatch Green 71 roadster is the right car at the right priceand#44; including a strong-running 350and#44; a 4-speed transmissionand#44; factory A/Cand#44; and a gorgeous interior.

Restored a few years agoand#44; this one shows only minor signs of being drivenand#44; which means that someone was absolutely fanatical about maintenanceand#44; because Corvettes are made to be driven. The bodywork was nicely doneand#44; not so perfect youre afraid to touch itand#44; but nice enough to get a second or third envious glance from the guy in the Honda next to you at the red light. There are a few touch-ups but overall this one grabs everyones attention in a big way. Gaps are good all aroundand#44; and if you prefer the chrome bumpersand#44; the 71s are a great choice. While some claim that theres nothing like a red Corvetteand#44; the dark green on this one looks right and gives it an understated look that doesnt deny what it isand#44; but suggests that theres more to it than just brute force. Speaking of chromeand#44; everything is nicely finished and polishedand#44; including the optional trunk rack on the backand#44; which always looks cool.

Originally filled with a code 423 dark green vinyl interiorand#44; this Vette now sports a stunning code 417 Saddle interior that is in excellent condition with a lot of new equipment. The seat covers offer textured inserts that are both grippy and comfortable if youre cruising in the sunand#44; and the center console puts most of the secondary controls at your fingertips. The original gauges are fully functional and have crisp markings and clear lensesand#44; while a Kenwood AM/FM/cassette stereo has been fitted in the center stack. The chrome shifter makes a bold statementand#44; and Chevy was justifiably proud of the Corvettes credentials (and knew their buyers would beand#44; too) and proudly spelled out the engine specs on a plaque mounted on the center console. 1971 was also the final year for the fiber-optic light monitoring systemand#44; which most first-time owners will think is just about the coolest thing theyve ever seen. Options include working factory A/Cand#44; a tilt steering columnand#44; and power steering and brakes. Theres also a new tan vinyl convertible top that stows so easilyand#44; plus an optional black vinyl hardtop thats a welcome addition.

The original 350 cubic inch engine was rebuilt at the time the car was restoredand#44; and today runs as well as any small block Chevy weve featured. New Chevy Orange paint was applied to the block while it was apartand#44; and simple valve covers give it a cool retro look thats pure Corvette. The engine bay is pretty cleanand#44; suggesting that this car has led a good life in a dry climateand#44; and theres no sign of rust anywhere on the running gear. The original exhaust manifolds feed a newer dual exhaust systemand#44; and someone has thoughtfully added some heat shielding on the floors to help control temperatures inside. And nothing makes a Corvette sing like a 4-speed gearboxand#44; which offers positive shifts and progressive clutch take upand#44; and it rolls on a set of original Rally wheels inside 235/60/15 white-letter radials.

If youre looking for a comfortableand#44; flashyand#44; and highly affordable Corvette roadster to enjoy next summerand#44; this is the one. Call today!
