1971 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 3.5 Sedan
MotoeXotica Classic Cars has sold many Mercedes-Benzes but few as nice as this one. We are very excited to present this 1971 300SEL 3.5 sedan. One of Mercedesandrsquo; flagship models, it was only one of 3,225 models made in 1971. Dressed in Horizon Blue paint (DB-304), the exterior is in very good condition, with only minor blemishes visible upon close inspection. The windows are all in fine shape, with no cracking or haze evident. The carandrsquo;s lights are in fine condition, intact and clear. The car rides on factory alloy rims surrounded by 205/70R14 tires, Bridgestone Potenza RE86s in front and Michelin MXVs in back. The carandrsquo;s body panels are straight and the bumpers shine brightly. In the well-kept trunk are a first-aid kit, a factory tool roll, a warning triangle and a Bilstein jack, plus a full-sized spare tire. The engine bay is in decent condition while the battery appears new. Driver assist features include air-conditioning, power steering, power brakes and power windows and pneumatic power locks. It is fitted with the powerful and highly desirable 3.5-liter V-8 engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and is remarkably well preserved. Inside, the deep blue leather seats are in fine order as is the matching carpet. The headliners, four-spoke steering wheel, door panels, package shelf, mirrors, center console and gear shifter are all in a similar state. Rounding out the interior is a Becker Europa II AM/FM stereo. This example has a sumptuous leather and burled walnut interior, which is reportedly some of the finest woodwork to ever be in a German car. TheMercedes-Benz W109isa luxury car produced from 1965 through to 1972 in North America. The cars were successful in West Germany and in export markets, including North America. The W109s carried over many of the basic engineering principles from previous models, but had many refinements to make them some of the most well-equipped cars of the era. They were top-of-the-line, luxuriously appointed and more advanced than the 280SE 3.5 sedan in chassis design and with its longer wheelbase, a better ride. It shared the air suspension from the 6.3 sedan along with some of its other technological improvements. The more powerful 300SE and 300SEL models were classified as the W109 chassis, with front and rear air suspension (rather than the coil spring-based W108 rear suspension), and available burled walnut interior trim, automatic transmission and power windows. Competition to this car in 1971 included Bentleyandrsquo;s T, BMWandrsquo;s 2000 Sedan and Jaguarandrsquo;s XJ6 sedan. This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 36,485 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! VIN: 10905612006228 |
