With a continuous production run of over 50 yearsand#44; the Porsche 911 has developedand#44; evolvedand#44; evaded executionand#44; matured and has been transformed in a style that no other automobile has ever experienced. It is an industry phenomenonand#44; and the fascination with this evergreen sports car is still capturing new fans today as much as it did after its launch in 1963.

9111112531 was completed on May 21and#44; 1971 for the California market in Burgundy Red over Black leatherette upholsteryand#44; optionally equipped with manual antennaand#44; front loudspeaker and noise suppressionand#44; comfort equipment packageand#44; tinted glass all-aroundand#44; light medal wheels and Michelin tires. A dealer installed air conditioning system was installed early in its lifeand#44; but has since been removed and is included with the sale. In early 1977and#44; Mr. and Mrs. Hollowell of Los Angeles acquired the Porsche and would go on to care for the Targa for the following 39 years. This honest example has spent its entire life in southern Californiaand#44; as made very apparent by its remarkably corrosion-free body and undercarriage. In 2016 it was shipped to Texas and joined a stable of many fine Porsches. The complete numbers-matching Targa remains largely preserved today with maintenance and freshening as needed. The body wears original glassand#44; trim and an older exterior repaint in correct Burgundyand#44; with factory California emission and Weltmeister decalsand#44; Amco bumper bars and California Blue plate. The cabin features a period Pioneer radio among generally original upholstery. The cars interiorand#44; engine/luggage compartments remain well preserved with spareand#44; jackand#44; wrenchand#44; plastic gloves and spare tire bag. At some point the previous owner professionally installed a dash cover which is still present and shows nicely.

Mechanicallyand#44; the car is exceptionally strong and smooth with an average of compression 170psi per cylinder and recent services including rebuilt alternatorand#44; new filtersand#44; fluidsand#44; Porsche batteriesand#44; tune-up and new tires in 2016.

This 911 leaves an overall impression of a well loved and cared for example. Our service specialists were thoroughly impressed by its condition overall and with all electrical components in proper working order. Important original artifacts include Owners Manualand#44; Technical Specifications bookletand#44; part receipts and a copy of the original California Pink Slip. This outstanding 2.2L Targa exemplifies the enthusiast image of the ideal California driverand#44; now available for worldwide purchase and delivery for the first time in almost 40 years.
