| Details: | 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle 1600DP. Bought this car brand new in 1971 and got it in yellow, because everyone else had a blue one. The engine has been rebuilt twice and the gearbox once over this cars life. The interior was updated in the 80s and is very period. The dash could use a new cover, but the seats have no rips and all controls and lights work as they should. There are two very small areas of rust behind the rear windows. It has not yet gone through the panel, just some light bubbling. That is all the rust I have found on this car. The breaks could use some regular maintenance. Currently keeping the car garaged and drive it on the weekends. Ive replaced the battery and the engine starts right up, even in the cold. Two pumps of throttle and a half second of cranking is usually enough to get her going. |
