This aSUPER RAREnumbers matching 1of 652 built 1972 Camaro Z-28, LT-1, Muncie M-21 close ratio 4-speed, 4:10 rear end gear ratio for sale. Only 652 of the 2575 total Z-28s built this year had this rear end option code ZQ9. You could not have orderedthis rear end in a automatic car. And think how many of those 652 cars ever built still exist today with all its original parts? This car is gorgeous and it retains allof theoriginal drivetrain, the original body panels, original wheels, and 99% of the original interior. Only 2575 total Z-28s were made in 1972 in due of the strike at the Norwood assembly plant in April 1972 that limited the production. Consider the 1970 Z-28 which is the first year of the 2nd generation body style built over 3 times as many. This (1972) is the rarest year for the 2nd generation Z-28. You see what I mean when I say rare? There is only 165 Z-28s out of the 2575 built thatare more rare. They came with the YD1 axle trailering ratio rear end which was only a $12.00 option. I was told this option is only for a Z-28 that came with an automatic. I cannot verify this claim but it makes sense to me. I can not seem to find what this means. But for only $12.00 in 1972 how significant can it be? You know as well as I that a muscle car that rolled off the assembly line with the highest rated horsepower engine available combined with a 4-speed and a rear end that was geareda 4:10is the most coveted combination of them all! Ask any expert. The paint job is of the highest quality where all the glass, weather stripping, emblems, trim, fenders, hood, deck lid, grill, bumpers, doors, and drivetrain was removed prior to prep and paint. This is NOT one of those cheap one day paint jobs. A lot of time and money was put into this one and of course was done professionally on a laser straight body. There are no dings, scratches, dents, or rock chips to speak of (except2 on the edge of theleft fenderand2 onthe left quarter panel which all have been touched up).The paintwas professionally color sanded and buffed to perfection. A magnet was used on all the sheet metal andthe magnets sticks hard to all panels including all the rust prone areas. This was a rust free car prior to restoration and you can tell. A fantastic job and will sure to please anyone. NEVER ANY RUST PERIOD. The interior is in amazing mostly original condition which leads me to believe the 41,249 miles on the odometer must be original. It also tells me this car was garaged its whole life. This interior cannot survive to the level this one has without the car escaping the elements. The dash is near perfect with no cracks. The instrument cluster is clear and very nice. All gauges work as they should. Even the factory clock! All the original vinyl, door panels, dash, seat backs, and rear interior quarter trim has been professionally dyed back to new condition. The reason being of slight fading that is typical for a 44 year old car. The carpet, rear package tray, dome lense and bezel, interior door handles, the rear view mirror, and interior door mirror control bezels are also brand new and GM certified from Classic Industries. THIS IS A FACTORY RADIO DELETE CAR!! The center console pictured has been removed because it was not original to the car. It was a 1974-1981 dated console the previous owner slid in with no bolts or screws. I basically just lifted it out of the car. It is no longer available.
The entire drivetrain was rebuilt and only wears 1400 miles since. The car starts, runs, shifts, tracks, and idles as good as it ever had with no leaks what so ever. This is a turn key car mechanically in every way. Nothing is needed and everything was attended to. The mechanical restoration includes the complete long block motor, carb, intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, distributor, transmission, rear end, brakes, suspension, wheels, and tires. A new aftermarket carburetor was installed but the original rebuilt carb is included in the
