Produced from 1967 to 1972, Chevrolet’s second generation C- and K-series trucks were given a new, more modern look to go along with their new nickname of “Action Line”, and while the previous generation had been designed primarily as work trucks, the new models featured comfort and convenience items to make driving easier and more enjoyable. Built at GM’s Fremont Assembly plant in California, this 1972 Chevrolet K10 4x4 has been fully restored inside and out. Under the hood this 4x4 is powered by a newer centerbolt 350ci V8 engine mated to a recently rebuilt TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. Ordered with a number of options including power steering, the truck also features front locking hubs while power brakes with front discs came standard. Shown in its original color scheme of medium red with a white cab top, the truck has been fully repainted and shows well with minimal flaws, and the bed has been rhinolined for durability. Inside the cab the black interior has been completely redone with new carpet, door panels and upholstery, and features factory optional gauges for amps, oil pressure, and water temperature while a tachometer has been added in place of the clock. Originally ordered with a pushbutton AM radio, the dash now houses an original Delco AM/FM unit with working 8-track player along with controls for the heater and defroster. Additionally, the truck has also been upgraded with a set of PIAA front fog lights, tow hitch with trailer light hookup, chrome bed rail covers and differential covers, a modern rearview mirror with electronic compass and for reliability an electric fuel pump and transmission cooler have been added. To give the truck a bit more flair it rides on a set of color-matched 4x4 Rallye wheels with chrome trim rings mounted with Cooper Discoverer A/T3 265/75R15 tires that are almost new. With just a flick of the key the K10 starts right up and runs smoothly with great power and sounds nice and healthy, and with the power steering and disc brakes this 4x4 drives like a dream. This 1972 K10 is a great example of a second generation Chevy “Action Line” 4x4 and is ready for any adventure and action its new owner can dream up.
