This 1972 Jaguar XKE Coupe is a 1-Owner From New car thats finished in its original Sable paint with its original Cinnamon Leather Interior. Powered by a 5.3L V12 engine and backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Its been loved and enjoyed for 45+ years and is ready for its next owner. Wearing its original factory paint, save for a small repainted section on the hood, and dressed with the original leather interior, this Jaguar is an affordable and sought-after collectible with history from new that is not a get in and go car. It is solid. The engine does run fairly admirably, and it does drive. It will require refurbishment throughout to all of its systems prior to being roadworthy, and safe. But, with some work, you will be just the second owner of a sensational and rarely seen vintage Jaguar. Records from 1972 to present, original books, shop manual, copy of window sticker on file. This particular example wears its original patina proudly. Purchased new at Imperial Motors in Illinois on February 14, 1972, (copy of purchase order on file), its one and only owner is now unable to drive and this Jaguar is leaving the family collection. To be the second owner of a nearly completely original 72 Jaguar XKE is an opportunity that rarely comes around and, when restored, this example will be a cherished collectible with outstanding provenance. Factory options on this Jaguar consist of; chrome wire wheels, whitewall tires, Sundym windscreen (tinted), A/C, electronically heated backlight, and a Bendix AM/FM stereo multiplex. Standard features include power assist steering.Legend has it that when it went on display for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961, none other than Enzo Ferrari remarked that the E-type (known as the XKE in the U.S.) was the most beautiful car hed ever seen. Mr. Ferrari knew a pretty car when he saw one and he might have been one of the first to express the sentiment, but an incalculable number of others have said virtually the same thing, and theyre still saying it sixty years later. Designed by a noted aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer, the E-type was meant to cheat the wind, but its glass covered headlights, long hood, short rear deck and compound curves also coincidentally looked great. With a 0-60 time of around seven seconds and a 150 mph top speed, the Series I E-type was near the top of the early 1960s food chain. A 2+2 coupe was added to the coupe and convertible body styles in 1966. The 2+2 was the first E-type to be available with an automatic transmission. For more information on this 1972 Jaguar XKE Coupe, or any of our 60+ Classic and Collectible cars always in our inventory, contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or always feel free to stop by our Bellevue, WA Park Place Ltd campus - where we have over 40,000 sq ft of indoor showrooms filled with the finest cars.
