This bright white 1973 Corvette convertible is the right car at the right price. For drivingand#44; its got plenty of V8 power and the look will earn it envious stares everywhere you go in it. Its not a show carand#44; so dont expect to have to put it on a trailer for road trips... insteadand#44; just get behind the wheel and head out to see where the road leads you. Originally low-key Medium Blueand#44; this Corvette was treated to a full respray in attractive Classic Whiteand#44; and the effect is just as appealing as youd think. A new nose differentiated the 73s from the earlier models and the chrome front bumperettes were goneand#44; giving it the look that Larry Shinoda would later reveal was the Corvette teams intention all along. It isnt perfect and doesnt need constant fussingand#44; which is just how most guys like their Corvettes. Yesand#44; its got a few nicks here and thereand#44; but youd be better served thinking of them as badges of honor rather than defects. This car is driven and used as intended. Panel fit is to factory specs and the paint has a great shine that really shows up well in the sunand#44; and a professional cut and buff would really bring it up a few notches. A shiny chrome luggage rack on the rear deck adds some useful practicalityand#44; and the chrome rear bumpers and shiny stainless rocker trim provide contrast to all that bright red paint. Inside it carries a beautiful Midnight Blue interiorand#44; which is its factory-issued color. The seats have that comfortableand#44; appealing look that defines the early 70s Vette interiorand#44; and matching door panels remain in very good condition. The gauges are original and show clean markings and only very minor fadingand#44; which suggests that this car has always been properly storedand#44; and they all work except the clock. Deep-pile carpetsand#44; which are probably too nice to be originaland#44; will look great for years to come thanks to a set of matching carpeted floor mats. A newer AM/FM/iPod stereo head unit was swapped into the center stack for cruising and sounds surprisingly goodand#44; even with the top down. Weather protection consists of a nice-fitting white convertible top that looks great with the white paintand#44; giving it a cleanand#44; sophisticated look that was often missing in the 1970s. The engine is a rebuilt 350 cubic inch V8 with a few minor upgrades that make it entertaining without hurting reliability. With an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and Mallory Unilite ignition systemand#44; its a lot more entertaining than the low-performance smog-choked 1973 powerplantand#44; yet remains instantly recognizable as a small block Chevy. A chrome air cleaner and finned valve covers dress it up a bit and theres fresh Chevy Orange paint on the block that looks great in the all-black engine bay. The TH400 3-speed automatic transmission is plenty robust for the warmed-over small block and cracks off sharp shifts when youre running hardand#44; yet remains unobtrusive when youre trundling around town. A fairly recent exhaust system includes mellow mufflers and correct tips under the rear bumpers and the underside of the car looks greatand#44; especially since its mostly original. Correct Rally wheels with shiny stainless trim rings wear BFGoodrich T/A radials that are exactly the right size.
