1973 Ferrari 246GTS Dino: Well documented California car and desirable European delivery example Chassis No. 07134 Rosso Corsa with tan interior This 1973 Ferrari 246GTS Dino is a very well documented European spec example thats been under the same ownership in California since 1983. From 1988-1989 it was treated to a complete cosmetic and mechanical restoration. It was finished in Rosso Corsa with new tan leather Daytona seats, door panels, and dark brown carpets. Its a superb driver that comes with every detailed invoice in a well-organized file and a complete 46 page photo album showing the step by step restoration. The car starts with a turn of the key, the clutch is light and the transmission is smooth and effortless.The body and panel fit and paint are excellent. The body, chassis and under panels are all exceptionally clean. It also comes with an owners manual, jack, and tool roll. The Dino was the first evolution of Ferraris higher volume, smaller engine exotics, meant to appeal to a larger market than the flagship V12s. Named after Enzo Ferraris son, Alfredino, who died in 1956 at the age of 24 of muscular dystrophy, the Dino was the first of the baby Ferraris smaller, lighter and more nimble than any other street Ferrari. Its transverse mid-engine was a Ferrari first in a street car, and the fourcam V6 shows its direct racing heritage from the V6 powered 206 SP and V6 powered F2 Ferraris. Styling was by Pininfarina and stands as one of the most beautiful and exotic Ferraris of the period. Thanks to the Dinos low sweeping body lines and the sounds of the well-proven, low-maintenance, high revving V6 right behind your seat, every trip to your local coffee shop sounds, drives and feels like a qualifying lap at Sebring. Weinstein of Bridgeport, West Virginia. 1983, with Michael Miller of Westport Porsche, Inc. in Costa Mesa. Sold to current owner, CA. 1988, October, restoration by Harold White (ExDan Gurneys All American Racers Indy car mechanic), repainted to Ferrari red (Rosso Corsa) paint from factory.
