Details: Mustang Convertible. One of a kind....1973 mustang ....351 cleveland 4 speed.. Custom convertible .. I bought it 31 years ago in 1984. It originally had a 302 v8 3 spd stick in it. In 1985 i found a 1970 351 4bbl cleveland 300hp for it and had it rebuilt. Then i bought a tunnel ram with 2 4bbl carbs and a cam and lifters from summit racing and a dual point dist and had them installed. Plus headers-side pipes- duel oil filters -exc... And i put a top-loader 4 spd with a hurst competition plus shifter and a 9 posi rear end in it. The body and the candy sunset red paint and the 1971 mach 1 stripes were done in 1985 also. I was working 7 days a week when i built it and i didnt have time to drive it. It has always been garage kept since i owned it.
I drove it a few times and probably has less than 30 hours on the engine in the past 30 years. A few years ago i pulled it out and had the interior redone in red metal flake. Also installed a new red metal flake steering wheel. I always hated the big ugly 1973 bumpers ..so i bought a new pair of 1971 mustang bumpers and fit them close to the body..i put a 1971 mach 1 grill and flip open gas cap also. I bought 1967 cougar tail lights and installed them to give it that shelby type look. I also installed a sequential tail light kit so the rear tail lights blink..1-2-3..1-2-3...a cool look. I started it up and yard drove it today..it still runs great. This car is not a trailer queen.. It had a good amateur restoration 30 years ago with little use. Still looks good for 30 year old restore. It is time for someone to enjoy it instead of it sitting in the garage.
