It is the best of both worlds. The car was built to be better than the day it left the Dearborn Michigan production line. Car has been southern owed car until 2013, when current owner from Iowa purchased it. Car is stored covered and indoors when not in use. The car was originally silver with black trim prior to its rebuild. It is now painted bright cherry, metallic red with a urethane base coat/clear coat. It is a gorgeous color, especially when in the sunlight. The body work is laser straight and no corners were cut. It is accented by the argent silver Mach 1 stripes and front chin spoiler. The floor pans and under carriage are perfect. All the chrome and bright work are excellent. She sits on a set of Cragar Style bright chrome wheels that look as new as the day they were bought. It has BF Goodrich tires: fronts-235-60-15 and rears 295-50-15. It has a bright-white-convertible-top with a rear glass window. White boot is also included. The interior is custom, it is tastefully done in white with bright red accents. The red inserts are like a corduroy material with the mustang logo embroidered into each headrest. The outside of the seats and backs, door panels, and console are bright white to match the top. The console has a custom made cup holder that sits in the ashtray, it can be removed to simply close the ashtray if desired. The carpets are bright red and like new with red floor mats. The steering wheel is a locking, removable grant racing wheel. It has a tac and gauges. The gauges are surrounded by the factory walnut trim. It has working factory A/C, power windows, power steering and 4 wheel disc brakes. The transmission is a five speed manual transmission out of a later mustang and it works flawlessly. It is a joy to drive on the highway! It is hooked up to a 9 inch ford POSI with 4:11 rear gears. The rear gears have been changed to a 4:11 ratio. This rare Q-Code 351 Cleveland Cobra Jet was completely rebuilt-standard bore and has the powerful and sought after 4V 1972 heads. These 1972 heads have the larger valves thane the 1973 and 74 4V heads that had to be downsized due to the newer EPA regulations. The 4V heads have the same size valves and ports as the famous BOSS 302 Cylinder heads! It was balanced and blueprinted. This engine has the 4 bolt main block. It uses the ISKY 282 duration cam with 514 lift. It uses Rhodes lifters. It is very clean! The engine runs super strong It has a 650 Holley double pumper (part # 4777) that sits on an Edlebrock Torker manifold. It has a mallory Unilite distributor and a Hi-Torque starter. The suspension is impressive and no expense was spared in upgrading it. It was completely new and upgraded to high-performance-standards. Its a competition suspension and handles unbelievably. It is Zinc/Cadmium plated. Anyone who has performed this type of suspension work will know how expensive it is to complete. The front brakes/suspension have the bolts drilled with wire going through them to prevent vibration from loosening them up just like in an aircraft engine. It includes air shocks and dual 2 1/4th aluminized balanced exhaust with blackjack AK-5000 coated headers. Every nut and bolt in front and rear suspension has been meticulously placed 4-wheel disc brakes let you stop on a dime. Theres no rust on this car.
