| Details: | 1974 Jaguar XKE Roadster, 4 speed manual gearbox and cold functioning factory air conditioning. Professionally restored. Recent repaint in the vehicles original Primrose Yellow, exterior brightwork has been rechromed, all new rubber weather stripping. The U.S. spec 5mph rubber bumpers were removed and new European spec chrome overriders were fitted. The engine was removed during the repaint and the engine compartment was refinished. The engine was professionally machined and rebuilt and refinished (approximately 700 miles ago). The original Zenith Stromberg carburetors were replaced with the simpler SU carburetor set up (OE carburetors go with the car). The ignition system was updated with an MSD set up, the new amplifier being fitted neatly on a custom farbicated bracket beneath the coolant header tank. (Original Lucas Opus ignition goes with the car). The radiator has been recored and refinished, cooling fans have been rebuilt, all heater and radiator hoses replaced. During the repair the front suspension, rear suspension and brakes were removed from the car, disassembled, replated and rebuilt. The front suspension has new torsion bars, ball joints, urethane suspension bushings. The brake calipers were replated and rebuilt with stainless steel brake pistons and fitted to the vehicle with new brake flex hoses, new brake servo and master cylinders. Clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder and flex hose were replaced as well. The gearbox was resealed and refinished. The Differential was resealed and new universal joints fitted to the half shafts and propeller shaft. The differential and carrier were refinished and fit to the car with new mountings. The trailing arms were replaced with new bushings. All the exterior and interior lamps work, the gauges were disassembled, cleaned and checked for calibration. The A/C system was serviced, works really well, and most importantly does not leak refridgerant. Upon assembly of the vehicle a new stay fast canvas top was fitted and new stayfast top boot. The interior was redone in its original black, however approximatley 5 years before the aforementioned work, the carpeting, custom fit floor mats, dash tops, seats and door panels look excellent. A period radio was fitted however does have a lightning connector retrofitted to play music and charge your i phone or i pod, etc. The tires including spare are relatively new and wear the correct size. The car comes complete with tools, jack and original owners manual, original manual pouch, and warranty card, This fall the car performed flawlessly on a 300 mile rally, this is a properly sorted car that needs nothing and can be driven home. |
