Details: A true English gentlemanandrsquo;s muscle car-- Italian design, reliable American Chrysler 440 power and bespoke British interior finish.

Two owner California car with the ultimate California plates reading: INRCPTR.

A pride of ownership car babied for the last 25 years.

This Jensen is an exceptional vehicle from its distinctive, windswept rear window (designed by Pinafarina of Ferrari fame), its Chrysler 440 power plant with a 275 HR rating, the lush black leather interior (Connolly leather as for Bentley), Recaro designed seats and its high-end McIntosh amp and AM/FM/CD control player. Superstar car in 1974:: owned by the likes of Sinatra, Nicklaus and the Stones Keith Richards.

ThisJensen Interceptor III is a sportingGT-class coupe that was hand-built during 1974 at the Kelvin Way Factory, Birmingham, England. There were a total of only 4,000 coupes ever built and now very few still surviving. Own the legend from The Saint TV show and the favored car of Princess Ann.

The car has a TorqueFlite transmission and a curb weight of only 3500 pounds, making this Interceptor both luxurious and fast. The louvered hood and side vents provide air flow for the massive power plant. The current owner has cherished the car for 25 years, a rare Sunday driver that was garaged throughout in his former Beverly Hills home.

The leather seats are in good condition, there are a few blemishes which can be seen in the photos. The instrument panel is all original as is the factory wood dash. The photos show the one modification, the McIntosh AM/FM/CD head unit ($1,000 in 1995 prices.) The seats, door panels, carpet, and console are in original condition. A patch in the wood divider panel by the shifter, between the front seats, has faded. The automatic windows, gauges, security gas tank release, power passenger lock all work.

The exterior body is in solid condition, as is the large, vented hood, but the paint is aged and cracking at some points. There is some rust under the front passenger seat. The bumpers are clean with no dents and without pits. The extensive stainless treatement around the windows and details, including the tail pipes, are all near perfect. When the engine begins to accelerate, there is a muscular thrum from the American power plant. A new paint job would admittedly bring this Interceptor into its well deserved eye-catching and sterling status it deserves.

As photos show, the engine compartment is very original. The engine was rebuilt about 4,000 miles ago by a reputable Los Angeles Jensen specialist, Bob Goudy. It is currently maintained at Solo Performance in Van Nuys by Wayne Solo, of Solo Autootive, a Jensen specialist and former Shelby Cobra owner and mechanic. As a result, the engine is fresh, reliable and has good compression at each piston. The dual fans keep the temperature at mid-dial.

The 4- wheels are original and matching6 andfrac12; inch GKN mag wheels with a strikingly attractive, classic design. They are in good condition. Suspension is in good order.

In short, this vehicle has the pedigree of very limited, collectible, production, and an extremely rare and original exemplar of a distinctive marque, at a bargain price as compared with cars of comparable power, style and uniqueness, which make it worthy of the discerning collector.
