Presenting a 1974 Volkswagen Type 1 (Beetle) with many attributes... In 1974 (one year only),Volkswagen AG produced a limited production offering -- the Sun Bug...Special features included a sunroof, center console, leather wrapped steering wheel, special upholstery, gold paint and graphics. This car is original California delivery with blue plates and78,xxx miles. It runs perfectly, shifts perfectly, corners with no rattles, and stops like it was brand new. The original gold paint has hadone repaint,in the obvious blue metallic...The front end has zero accident damage (perfect front area) as well as every other place we checked - it is easily the straightest and best condition Volkswagen we have ever owned, out of a total of approximately 40 Bug + Bus examples. The seats are in near perfect condition - supportive, comfortable and looking great. The special center console and leather steering wheel are in near perfect condition also. The dash pad has several cracks- possibly repairable. All lights / signals / horn / gauges work properly. Carpets appear to be original - in very good condition... In our process of inspection / adjustments / service, we performed anoil change, valve adjustment, gas tank service w/filter, brake adjustment, and misc trim work. The Summary: This car is extremely fun to drive, and we know the new owner/driver will enjoy it also. Its that good - the steering precision and overall drive is over the top amazing. In Germany, there is a race series called Kafer Cup- the cars are built to 120-150 hp +competition suspension--- in this form the car performs like a 911 Porsche. The non-original paint color is usable as-is, or could be returned to gold. Please feel free to ask any questions-- we use various experts to give proper care to our fairly large car collections and they are available any time. |
