Details:Affordable fun and Corvette don't always go together, but this 1976 Corvette is a truly affordable icon. Everyone knows it when they see it, and in bright red, nobody's going to miss you coming or going. From behind the wheel, this one delivers solid V8 performance and a '70s cool factor that just can't be found anywhere else. It's OK, you can admit it-you turn to look every time one of these rolls past. Sure, they have an unmistakable '70s groove going on, and with all the images that it conjures up of disco music, bell bottoms, and big hair, there's also the fact that in 1976, if you owned a Corvette, you were The Man. Bright Red wasn't as popular as silver and white in 1976, which should tell you something about what was going on back then, but today seeing one of these in Red is like greeting an old friend. Good fiberglass suggests a clean, original car, and the paint, while done a few years ago, has an honest patina that is just fine for a car you're going to love driving. No cracks in the usual places, bumper caps that match the bodywork, and, well, it's hard to go wrong with a red Corvette, I don't care which one's you favorite. Lift-off T-tops give it a great open-air experience, and the headlights work properly with fresh vacuum lines feeding the motors, curing one of the biggest complaints C3 owners have about their rides. They called it Smoked Gray, and the interior looks awesome with the Red paint, a combination that probably wasn't popular in the '70s but looks surprisingly contemporary today. New seat covers are correct in their pattern, plus matching door panels, and a console that just looks too nice to be original all give it a very fresh look inside. Subtle woodgraining suggests that the Corvette was softening along with its buyers, but the classic gauges, 4-spoke steering wheel, and snug-fitting seats tell another story. A/C was not standard, but enough people added it to the options list that it may as well have been, and this one also carries a trick little cup holder that's an aftermarket addition you'll appreciate when you hit the road. Big news in 1976 was that horsepower was going back up, with the base 350 cubic inch V8 finding another 15 horsepower for a total of 180. This one might have a few tricks up its sleeve, since it's obviously been reworked and fitted with goodies like the aluminum valve covers and a few chrome bits, and it certainly runs well enough to be a worthy long-distance cruiser. The engine bay is clean, with recent additions that include an alternator and master cylinder, as well as fresh brake calipers. The carb was freshly rebuilt and it was tuned to sound like a small block Chevy should. Original Rally wheels wear Firestone radials that still have a lot of life left in them. For big fun on a small budget, you can't get more car for less money than a C3 Corvette. Call today and own an icon! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
