1976 Triumph TR6 w/Overdrive This is the way Triumph should have built them in the first place. The heart of this unique vehicle is a 2.7 liter motor (the original bullet-proof block is bored .060 over). The engine work was done by Frank Buonanno, renowned Ferrari V12 engine builder and the founder of the Black Horse Garage, a restoration workshop in Bridgeport, Ct. The drivetrain highlights are as follows:
The upgrades didnandrsquo;t stop with the engine, the frame was replaced with a brand new frame with additional gussets at the known stress points. To improve the handling, the suspension was replaced, anti sway bars added and the chassis was lowered 1.5 inches. Brake calipers were upgraded to larger Mazda calipers, which are almost twice the size of the stock brakes. Brake discs are EBC high-performance discs. Tires are Kuhmo 716 HP4 high performance tires. Now that we had one of the best performing TR6andrsquo;s in the world, we set out to make it one of the best looking. The body was stripped down to the bare metal, all the minor dents were pulled out, a skim coat of filler and the beautiful Mallard Green paint was applied with several coats of clear. Minilite alloy wheels were added, with red highlights on the rear drums and front calipers. The bumpers and headlight rims were re-chromed. Lastly, the super ugly rubber bumper guards were removed, which really lightened up the look of the car. I have owned this car for about 8 years. During my ownership, it has never been out in the rain and always kept in a climate controlled environment. The car also comes with an extra trunk lid with matching paint and a re-chromed luggage rack. There is also an extra windshield and radiator. As you can see from the pictures and the description, this is one of the most exceptional TR6andrsquo;s in the world. If youandrsquo;re looking for a stock restoration, keep on looking. But if youandrsquo;re looking for a car thatandrsquo;s beautiful, reliable, fun, sounds like a racecar and goes like hell, give me a call. |
