The 1977 Corvette arrived with only modest modifications. Inside, the console was redesigned to accept a larger array of Delco audio decks, its instruments were restyled for greater legibility and the climate controls were simplified. This car is equipped with tilt steering as well as a Smart Switch steering-column stalk that combines the headlight dimmer and wiper washer functions with the turn signals. Leather upholstery was now standard as well as power steering and brakes. The Stingray nameplate was replaced by the traditional crossed-flags insignia. This particular example was converted to an Auto Cross car that was built for performance and handling and is a certified Sports Car Club of America (S.C.C.A.) Grand Champion. The heart of this bad boy is a 350 ci V8 that was bored .030 over to a 355. It was built for performance and reliability with a mild cam, flat top pistons and roller rockers. The 68cc heads are from a 72 Vette and they have stainless steel 202 intake valves and 106 exhaust valves. It is fed via a Quick Fuel 650 cfm carb and is sparked with a MSD distributor, an Accel cap and coil and it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its performance headers and exhaust system. The tranny is a 700R4 with electronic overdrive that was performance built with a 2400 stall converter and shift kit. The 355 gears were replaced with 373 gears, the trailing arm was completely rebuilt and adjustable strut rods were added. The front upper A arms were locked together to eliminate body lean and there is a whole new brake system front and rear which consists of slotted and dimpled rotors, calipers with stainless steel sleeves and stainless steel flex braided lines. All exterior lights have been upgraded to LEDs with aircraft landing lights up front. The interior has new seats, new carpet, a new steering wheel and a Custom Autosound retro stereo with XM. The car was finished about 8 years ago and has been driven approximately 15,000 miles since. It is extremely fast, handles like a roller coaster on rails and is totally reliable. All said and done over $40,000 was spent to make this beauty what she is. We have however priced it as if it were bone stock so if you could see yourself tearing the road up in this sweet ride you better pick up the phone before its too late!
