1978 Chevrolet Nova SS clone. Not a Barrett Jackson ready restoration but a great job regular driver restoration. We all know that you never get your money back out of these types of restorations so here is your chance to get a completely done hot rod for thousands less if you did it all yourself. This 78 was originally a Rally Sport but it has been done up to clone an SS. I purchased the car from a guy that did 90% of the work then I finished it off. The body was stripped down and finished for paint. The paint job included spraying the jambs and painted all the small parts like bumper filler, cowl, trunk lid and underside of hood, etc. Original 75-76 code 78 Med Orange is the paint color - looks awesome! The spring of 2013 I added the black SS stripe along the bottom of the car. This was professionally painted. The interior was stripped down before changing the color from medium blue to black. Foil wraps about 1/8 thick used on the inside before installing the carpet to help with road noise and drone from the exhaust. Strips of butyl backed sound deadener in the doors, floors and kick panels. New weather-strips installed, trunk mat made. The buckets and console are from a 2000 Trans Am. The drivers side seat is power and works great. Alpine 6x9 speakers and new stereo with Bluetooth for the sound system and deep black window tint on the four sides and rear windows. All of the gauges work. The car had factory air that wasnt fully functional. When the SS stripe were add the the car. I had them take that out and install a new Vintage Air unit. This works incredibly well. I do have 90% of the original air components that can go with the car if you would like. The engine is a 40 over late model 350 with flat tops, vortec heads with a little work, 525 roller cam, roller rockers, air gap intake and a Holley carb. Its a good street combo. 2500 stall and currently 3.73 posi in the rear. When I purchased the car it had 4.11s but I swapped those out for a better ride at 55. The 4.11s though not installed will be included with the sale. The transmission was totally re-done and is rated for 600ho. The rims and tires are all new as of the summer of 2013, maybe 300 miles on them at most. The rears are 15x8-12MM 5 x 4.75 American Racing Hot Rod VNT71R5861 polished rims and the fronts 15x7s. The tires in the back BF Goodrich Radial T/As size P235/60 R15s and the fronts matching but size P215. Included with the sale will be a pair of P235/60 R15s mounted on rallys. These P235/60 R15s I originally had on the front then downsized. I also have another set of rally rims (aftermarket) along with trim rings and two sets of center caps that are included. All of the chrome trim and bumpers are in excellent condition. No pits or spidering to speak of. Other items that will be included in this sale: pair of original Chevrolet bucket seats from a 1977 Camaro. These are in great shape and would just need to be re-covered in black if you ever wanted the original style bucket seats. The bottom portion of an original floor shifter console from a 1978 Nova. One extra set of bullet mirrors, and an extra SS steering wheel. I may have a few more odd pieces that you will be welcome to. This car is truly and awesome ride in great shape that you will absolutely love as I do. I get more thumbs up than you can imagine....I have people follow me to the store just to look and ask about the car or take pictures. I used to drive it weekly but of late I only start it up on a weekly basis and take it for a quick drive around the block. All this being said it is a driver, not a sit in the garage and look at it car. It is not 100% perfect with numbers matching and original nuts and bolts used. It does have a chip or two in the paint.
