1978 Ferrari 308 GTS. This black on black beauty turns heads everywhere it goes. One of the early 308s made, this 1978 is one of the desirable carburetor cars with 4 Webber40DCNF sitting atop the beautiful sounding 2927cc engine. Unlike later made 308 GTSi/GTBi, the early models had fewer power sapping emission control systems installed. Showing just under 50,000 original miles, this example is ready to be driven and enjoyed, or collected as an investment. It has spent the last 8 years in a private collection. Immediately prior to being stored as part of the collection, it was completely restored and rebuilt. The rebuild was major and no part of the car was overlooked. The highlights include a total strip and repaint of the entire vehicle in its original black color and polished to like or better than new condition. The interior, including the seats, dash and doors were also redone in black leather and also shows as almost new in good condition. The carpet was also replaced in black wool. The removable targa style roof is in condition with the rubber gaskets still good. The wheels on the car are a upgraded optional set of BBS RS three piece wheels wrapped in brand new Good Year Eagle tires. Mechanically, the entire engine was pulled and worked over. The build includes new seals, bearings, clutch, pressure plate, and a rebuild of the carbs. This also included the all important timing belts that could be seen as this engines Achilles heel. At the same time, the transmission was also rebuilt with new synchros. This car needs absolutely nothing.
