Details: The case can be made that the 79-81 Trans Ams like this 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am were the coolest versions of Pontiacs pony car. The sleek lines of the second-generation body had maturedand#44; a new aerodynamic beak was up frontand#44; and all of the proper spoilersand#44; wings and graphics were in place. Deep dish snowflake wheels filled the wells perfectlyand#44; and shaker hoods were still the norm. If only they had the horsepower to live up to the image... ohand#44; wait a minuteand#44; this one does! In addition to the Trans Am lookand#44; its got big power in the form of a built 428 cubic inch Poncho V8 living under the hoodand#44; making this a wolfand#44; inand#44; erand#44; wolfs clothing.

No ones going to accuse the Norwood plant of employing a bunch of Rembrandtsand#44; but this car looks much better than most. The White paint is even and in great shapeand#44; and thats in line with the rest of the carand#44; which is eye-catching but not over-done. The gray and red graphics are cool to seeand#44; and they make this car look like a baby 10th anniversary carand#44; offering a unique look thatll stand out among the many black Bandit cars running around. The new for 1979 spoilers and bumpers look great on this carand#44; giving it a real racer lookand#44; longerand#44; lowerand#44; and leaner than ever before. Its showing some signs of age and useand#44; of courseand#44; but its in the ideal condition to enjoy the deep reserves of horsepower under the hood. From any angleand#44; this is a tough looking car that presents itself veryand#44; very well.

Those are the originaland#44; excellent condition red buckets youre sitting on. That Formula wheel feels great in your handsand#44; and youll thank yourself every time you drive the car that you bought one with the close ratio four speed transmission. The engine turned dash panel is excellentand#44; and the gauges are crisp. Theres an awful lot of red in here with little ornamentation...this was a place of business. The word loaded gets thrown around a lotand#44; but this cars got almost everything: power windowsand#44; a tilt wheeland#44; power steering and brakesand#44; and somewhere along the way it was updated with a Kenwood AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo that sounds great. The trunk is neatly finishedand#44; tooand#44; including a space-saver spare and black carpets that give it a cleanand#44; finished look.

Open the hood and its still 100% Pontiacand#44; dont worry. The 428 cubic inch V8 shows a 1968 date code and the YY stamping suggests 360 horsepower on tap. It was rebuilt about 15and#44;000 miles ago and augmented with an Edelbrock intake manifoldand#44; long-tube headers with a stainless steel exhaust systemand#44; and a big 4-barrel carburetorand#44; so every one of those horses show up ready for action. The correct air cleaner looks right sticking through the hood and its painted Pontiac Turquoise for a factory-ish look. A look at the chassis reveals a robust TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and the stock rear endand#44; neither of which seem to mind the added torque spinning through them. Its tidy and cleanand#44; suggesting a car that has lived an easy lifeand#44; and brand new snowflake alloy wheels are the right choiceand#44; with these wearing 245/60/15 Uniroyal radials.

If youre looking for a Trans Am that moves as well as it looksand#44; this is the one. Very affordableand#44; its an icon with the firepower to live up to the legend. Call today!
