1984 was a year full of memorable events; the summer Olympics were held in Los Angeles, Space Shuttle Discovery was launched for its maiden flight, MichaelJacksonandrsquo;s Thriller album sold more than 37 million copies, Ronald Regan won the presidential race for his second term, Ghostbusters hits the big screen...sadly, it was also the year the last Land Cruiser J4x rolled out the assembly line in Nagoya Japan.

Our andacute;84 FJ40 was one of the last produced, it was purchased directly from Toyota Motor Corporation Japan on January 31, 1985. This FJ, along with 23 others imported by Corporacion Autonoma Regional del Cauca, had a vital role in the recovery of the Cauca region of Colombia, devastated by a massive earthquake in 1983. Do to the rugged terrain of the region, with the steep Andes Mountains, virtually no paved roads, inclement weather, the Toyota Land Cruiser was the vehicle of choice to transport supplies, environmental engineers, and workers to assist remote communities in desperate needs. Our FJ was retired by the Corporacion Autonoma Regional in andacute;96. it was sold at auction to a sugar cane plantation owner, enthusiast of Toyota Land Cruisers, who owned it nineteen years.

In 2015, we came across the andacute;84 FJ40, for our surprise it was in excellent condition, with perfect original floors, no rust, and only 185,000 km. We had to have it and bring it back to its glory, not every day you come across a last production year J4x Land Cruiser. For nine months, the FJ underwent an extensive full frame off nut and bolt restoration by our expert mechanics with over 30 years of experience, using all OEM parts, no expense was spared. We added a Vintage Air A/C heater unit so the FJ can be enjoyed every season of the year. Please see the list below for all the work done on the FJ.

Finally, after hundreds of man hours, countless nights at the shop, numerous roadblocks along the way, we are proud to present our 1984 FJ40, one of only a handful final production year FJ40s in the US. This vehicle is the result of a work of passion and enthusiasm for the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser.
