This might just be the nicest 1985 Buick Regal weve ever seen. In the 1980sand#44; these were ubiquitous on the streetsand#44; but when was the last time you saw oneand#44; never mind one thats virtually showroom new? Offering a handsome color combinationand#44; an extensive (and expensive) list of service receiptsand#44; and incomparable 80s luxuryand#44; this is an awesome throwback to a simpler time thats very attractively priced. The books call this Light Brown Metallic but its a wonderful shade of gold that looks very upscale on the crisply folded Regal sheetmetal. These were really good looking cars back in the dayand#44; offering both a formal roofline and sporty long hood/short deck styling that really worked well. The paint is about as close to showroom new as youll fine and if there are flawsand#44; they were put there by the factory. Sureand#44; its been drivenand#44; but theres very little evidence of it and youll be pleasantly surprised by just how good build quality was in 1985. Those big doors close with ease and thanks to healthy rubber weather sealsand#44; the interior is as quiet as a tomb. A single contrasting pinstripe runs the length of the body to add a little flair and its kind of nice to see one of these without the usual vinyl half-roof. And in contrast to all those blacked-out Grand Nationals that you see at every showand#44; this one proudly wears a ton of chromeand#44; all of which sparkles like the day it was built. The interior is pretty much like new. Someone has spent a great deal of care making it that wayand#44; treating every component with a white-gloves. Today its almost impossible to see where anyones posterior has beenand#44; because the drivers seat is firmand#44; the steering wheel is like newand#44; and theres not even a little depression where youd rest your elbow on the center armrest. That console is a rather rare find in a Regal and its just another part of what makes this car special. The only alterations from stock are those that youll appreciateand#44; including a new Sony AM/FM/CD/satellite head unit (the original radio is included with the car) and a brand new $5000 Vintage Air A/C systemand#44; since this car wasnt ordered with factory A/C. You also get a giant trunk with its original mats and spare tire. Buicks indestructible 3.8 liter V6 provides plenty of grunt in the upscale Regal and is as silky smooth as youd expect. It has been properly maintained since it was newand#44; so everything works like it should and the car startsand#44; idlesand#44; and runs superbly. There are a few new partsand#44; most notably a fresh radiator and exhaust systemand#44; all intended to make this car as good as it can possibly be for a very fastidious owner. The engine bay is spotlessand#44; another indication that this car has been well-maintainedand#44; and you can drive this car with confidence just as you might have in 1985. The 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission shifts beautifully and the tall overdrive and highway gears out back make this a super highway cruiser ready for a road trip. As youd expectand#44; its ultra-sanitary underneath and those handsome Buick road wheels were just installed at a cost of over $1100and#44; completing the look.
