It was imported as a new car, received a catalytic converter to meet the strict Califoria emission requirements, but retained its German H4 headlights and small chrome bumpers.

The star cruiser comes superbly equipped with automatic climate control (Klimaautomatik), cruise control (Tempomat), vaccum-operated central locking system (Zentralverriegelung), tinted glass (Colorverglasung), power windows (elektrische Fensterheber), power mirrors (electrische Aussenspiegel), height-adjustable and heated seats (Sitzhandouml;henverstellung and Sitzheizung) and all the goodies youd expect to find in a luxury car of this vintage anyway.

The engine runs like a Singer sewing machine, delivers 218 horses on demand, exactly 63 more than its US sibling which had to do with 155, and only 8 less than the 560SL.

SLs undercarriage is that of a California survivor. No rust or accident damage, all factory original finishes, and even lots of the Cosmoline in place!

The car comes with the matching factory hardtop and a black softtop as well as the factory correct Bundt alloys.

The car runs and drives superb. Having driven numerous 560SLs, we can honestly say that theres barely a difference in power. Yes, the 560SL has a bit more torque, but this 380SL would give any 560SL a run for the money, up to a speed thats way, way out of reach for us Yanks.

Rarely will find a Euro SL that has benefitted from living the good life in sunny Southern California. Truly, the best of both worlds!
