Marino Performance Motors is thrilled to announce the arrival of this 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS finished in Rosso Corsa and wrapped in Beige leather with only 42,861 collector miles! The 328 was the final evolution of the 308 that debuted at the 1975 Paris Motor Show. Itself introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in autumn 1985, the 328 bore a number of changes that separated it from the final 308 Quattrovalvole models. The heart of the new car was its transversely mid-mounted 90-degree V-8, an all-aluminum unit that retained its Nikasil cylinder liners and internally toothed timing belts. Also differentiating the 328s engine from that in the 308 were its re-profiled camshafts and new pistons and electronic ignition system, all of which helped push U.S.-market output from 230 to 260 hp and from 188 to 214-lb.ft. of torque. Also subtly refined was the 328 interior, which at first glance seems indistinguishable from its predecessors. While the Veglia gauges in a trapezoidal binnacle, three-spoke Momo wheel and spindly gear shift emanating from an exposed shift gate were constants in the 308-328 era, the latter had updated climate control switchgear and knobs on the floor-mounted center console. The stereo and center vents were in a new central panel on the dash, topped with three small gauges, while the handbrake moved from the console to the floor between the drivers seat and sill to make room for a lockable glovebox. The 328 still offered the accommodating separate heater boxes and fans for each side of the interior, although they were now electronically controlled rather than cable-operated. Domenic DiDonato, 328 expert and contributing author to Ferrari Club of America publications, shares: An estimated 30 percent of 328s were official U.S.-market cars, with the remainder often referred to here as Euro, or other-market cars.
