Details: At the Paris Salon of 1984, Ferrari presents the successor to the legendary BB512 after nearly 10 years of marketing. Called andlsquo;Testarossaandrsquo;, referring to the legendary Le Mans winning car (which it takes the covers red cylinder heads, hence the name), the car is again the work of Pininfarina. The Italian designer offers a magic line, as aggressive as thin and despite gargantuan proportions of the car which is over 2 meters wide. The ultrawide rear of the car is supplied through the drilled sides and profiles which also allow a fresh air supply of the two lateral radiators from the heart of the beast.

The Testarossa is equipped with 12-cylinder boxer inaugurated in 1972 on the 365 GT4 BB. This engine is also more of a V12 at 180 anddeg; a true boxer. The capacity is increased to 4942 cm3 here and power increased to 390 hp at 6300 rev / min. At the time of its release, the Testarossa was a rare series of cars to flirt with the 300 km / h.

The engine of the Testarossa will not change throughout his career until he was replaced in 1992 by the 512 TR. In cosmetics, note 3 periods on Testarossa:
1984-1986: Monospecchio-Monodado, Testarossas wheels with central locking and marketed with a single mirror driver halfway up the door pillar. The original version.
1986-1988: Monodado. The mirrors go down, a passenger retro is added in series, the rims are still central nut.
1988-1992: 5 bolts. The rims pass fixing bolts 5 classic and pneumatic mounts are more conventional than previously mounted TRX.
Throughout his career, the Testarossa was produced 7177 copies. We do not know precisely the production of monospecchio but taking into account only two years of production, the figure should be around 1,500 copies maximum. Some say 390 copies, but this figure seems much too low.
