Overview: 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL Roadster. It has 61,445 original miles and is in very nice condition with documentation dating back to new. It runs and drives excellent with no issues as its been enjoyed as a pleasure vehicle over the years and not daily transportation. This is evident by the low mileage and cleanliness. In my ownership it has always been kept stored indoors at my private facility when not in use on sunny weekend pleasure drives. Overall it is a very nice well cared for example of the top-of-the line 560SL from the late 80s.History: The ownership history is known from new per the documentation I have. As evident by the original sales paperwork, it was purchased new by a women at Gulf Stream Motors in Palm Beach, FL on 12/30/87. She traded in her 1986 560SL for it and she remained the original owner from winter of 1987 to the spring of 2013. From there, it spent the next 3 years in NJ with a collector before coming to MI when I bought it in spring of 2016.Exterior: The color is the original code 473 Champaign Metallic and the paint is in very good condition showing only minor blemishes consistent with pleasure driving over the last 28 years. Id classify it as a high-end driver as the paint is still very glossy and I had a professional ceramic pro detail done to it and the clear coat is extremely smooth. The chrome is in nice shape too showing minor wear. All the lights are in good working condition and all of the glass is in great shape. The car retains all of the original VIN stickers on the hood, trunk lid, and body panels indicating these are original to the car and Ive seen no evidence of it ever having an accident or paint work.Interior: The interior is finished in Creme Beige Leather with a Chocolate Brown soft top and it is in exceptionally good condition overall. The carpet and seats are in very good condition as are the hardtop and soft top. The heat and A/C work great as does the stereo and all the speakers. Truly a remarkably well kept interior.Wheels/Tires: The wheels are original and are in great shape. They are wrapped in newer Michelin MXV Primacy tires with a lot of tread left.Undercarriage: Underneath this example shows quite well as its very clean and well kept with no leaking fluids. Documentation: As mentioned earlier, documentation I have for the car includes the original sales paperwork showing the original owner traded in a 1986 560SL for this 1988 with a selling price of $63,291. I also have the maintenance history documented in the service booklet up to mid-1995 with accompanying service receipts for work performed from 1995 on. Also included are the original books, original manuals, 1 original key, original hardtop tools, and a fitted Mercedes car cover.Maintenance: The maintenance history is well known per the documentation from the service booklet as well as receipts for service since new. The first entry in the service booklet is the pre-delivery inspection completed on 12/30/87. The second entry is for the 1,000 mile service completed at 1,201 miles on 3/9/88. The third entry is for the 7,500 mile service completed at 7,121 miles on 10/22/88. The fourth entry is for the 15,000 mile service completed at 15,594 miles on 10/27/89. The fifth entry is for the 22,500 mile service completed at 21,247 miles on 1/22/91. The sixth entry is for the 30,000 mile service completed at 35,547 miles on 5/2/95. There are no further entries in the service booklet after 5/2/95, however, there are service receipts that accompany the routine maintenance for the car which includes a new radiator and A/C service last year.Payment Terms/Shipping/Contact: Clean and clear title.
