Fox-body Mustangs still represent a huge bang for the buckand#44; and while you may glance at the price tag on this 1989 Ford Mustang GT and sayand#44; Heyand#44; thats not cheap! take a step back and realize that this car already has every single upgrade youve ever wantedand#44; all wrapped in a show-quality package thats ready to rock. Youre not going to get anything this fast or this pretty for less cash anywhere. The wild two-tone blue and white paint is beautifully applied and it has the show wins to back it up. This isnt some relic of the 90sand#44; but a fresh build that looks up-to-date today and still attracts a lot of attention wherever its shown. The body kit is a Cervinis Stalker setupand#44; with a multi-level Cobra-style hood and ground effects that look a bit like the original GT pieces but a little more aggressive. The finish is expertly done and the airbrush work between the colors is stunningand#44; and with House of Kolor finishesand#44; its simply gorgeous. The bodywork underneath is excellentand#44; tooand#44; and while the Fox Mustangs were often abusedand#44; nobody could say they werent toughand#44; so the doors line up welland#44; the hatch fits like it shouldand#44; and for a custom hoodand#44; it sure fits well. Youll note the headlights and taillights are cool crystal clear units that update the Mustangs look and the usual 5.0 badges have been replaced by 351 emblems that better tell the story of whats going on under the hood. Youd be forgiven for not recognizing the Mustangs interiorand#44; which has been extensively upgraded to cope with the horsepower now on tap. A 6-point cage was painted to match the body and really stiffens up the whole carand#44; and the back seat was removed for obvious reasons. Sparco racing seats and 5-point harnesses were fittedand#44; and after you see what this car can doand#44; youll realize this was a smart upgrade. The original dash is intactand#44; with the original gauges replaced by handsome white-faced dials that look a lot more modernand#44; as well as that trick billet wheel. Theres also a custom pistol-grip shifter for the 5-speed gearbox and drilled pedals on the floor. There is no radioand#44; but youll never miss it in this carand#44; and its just beautifully finished everywhere you lookand#44; from the custom gauge mounts in the center stack to the embroidered floor mats. Even the trunk is fully upholstered and carries a rear-mounted battery. The 351 cubic inch V8 is vintage 1970 and has been fitted with Ross pistonsand#44; Eagle rodsand#44; and a Crane custom blower roller camand#44; all to work better with the Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger up top. Its completely balanced and blueprintedand#44; and with a massive fuel system that includes an Edelbrock intakeand#44; Trick Flow fuel railsand#44; and Ford Racing injectorsand#44; its as docile and easy to drive as a stocker. Dyno sheets with the car show 565 horsepower and 523 pounds of torque at the rear wheelsand#44; so its definitely got the goods. Its also neatly dressed with lots of polished aluminumand#44; including the inner fendersand#44; and more of that glowing electric blue paint. The power goes aft through a modified Mustang Racing Pro 900 5-speed manual transmissionand#44; an aluminum drive shaftand#44; and a built rear end with 3.55 gearsand#44; a Ford Racing limited slip and Moser axles. The exhaust includes long-tube headers and catalytic convertersand#44; meaning that this car is 50-state legal in its current tune. Wow! Brakes are giant Baer discs all aroundand#44; ths suspension is by Maximum Motorsportsand#44; and it sits on gorgeous Steeda wheels that recall those fitted to the Cobra R and 245/45/17 Mickey Thompson radials.
