Details: The car presented here is an absolutely pristine, absolutely original 1991 Nissan 300ZX 2+2.

The car was found in a barn in 2009. Including myself, its never been owned by someone under the age of 60 and both of the previous drivers were women; it has never ever been in an automatic car wash; never driven in the snow and has only 35,600 original miles on it. The passengerandrsquo;s seat has rarely been used and the back seats never been used. In terms of maintenance, the car comes with a looseleaf binder that contains the window sticker AND every single service record since the date of purchase. Other than routine maintenance by Nissan Certified Mechanics (oil, all belts, tires, brake pads, fluids, injectors, etc.) nothing has been modified. The car is 100% entirely factory original.

Some other stuff:

  • Itandrsquo;s not a twin turbo
  • It doesnandrsquo;t have a manual transmission
  • Its in near new condition
  • It has every factory option, and they all work.

Well OK, that last statement isnandrsquo;t entirely true. The Bose radio started acting up on the cross country trip and snaps and crackles when turned on. I just havenandrsquo;t replaced it because I want the car to be original as possible.

This car won its class in the first car show in which it was ever entered, and it outpointed some really nice cars. It took second place in the second car show it was entered into. (The first place finisher told me it was because it had just come from a 3,000 mile cross country trip the weekend before and I hadnandrsquo;t detailed the engine bay and there was some dirt in the drip rails.) Last fall, at Lime Rock Parks Gathering ot the Marques, it took first place for ALL Japanese Marques of ALL years. The trophy was handed out by Bob Sharp (team owner of the Newman Sharp Nissan Racing Team and owner of Bob Sharp Motors) who remarked that it was one of the nicest 300ZXs hed ever seen.

The only reason Iandrsquo;m considering getting rid of the car is that my wife HATES it. She liked the 96andrsquo; Miata I had before the Z and as much as I like this car, I also need a quiet (and happy) wife. Otherwise, wed just keep this one, maintain it well and enjoy it for another decade. If you understand and like he Z32 series -- the 300ZX second series -- youll love this one. If you dont, find something you Do like. Ill cheer you on from the sidelines.
