Details: With Japanese cars suddenly becoming legitimate collectors itemsand#44; perhaps this 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo will be a smart investment. One ownerand#44; unmodifiedand#44; clean and well-maintainedand#44; its exactly the kind of car you want to put away for posterity and when theyre this fun to driveand#44; you can enjoy yourself while they appreciate.

With the later Supra Turbo getting all the attentionand#44; these earlier cars have become screaming bargains considering how much performance is inside. Making the same horsepower as a contemporary Corvetteand#44; the handsomeand#44; understated Supra makes a fine alternative to the usual stuff. The steel gray bodywork is appropriately subtle in the Japanese wayand#44; and the cleanand#44; sleek look has aged well. The Turbos offered a slightly deeper front air damand#44; side skirtsand#44; and a rear wingand#44; not to mention a few discreet turbo badgesand#44; and an expert can spot one a mile away. The paint is original and considering the age and milesand#44; in remarkably good condition. Howeverand#44; in typical Japanese fashionand#44; panel fit is excellent and the paint has a great shine that still looks good today. Its certainly not perfect and there are signs of age and useand#44; but you dont see many 25 year old cars that look this good.

Deeply bolstered cloth buckets grab you like a catchers mitt and hold you in place during spirited drivingand#44; which is how this car is made to be enjoyed. The durable cloth upholstery still looks fantastic and the seats are firm and supportiveand#44; indicative of great quality when it was built. The Supra was Toyotas sports car flagshipand#44; so just about everything was standardand#44; making this more of a grand tourer than a track day weaponand#44; but that only makes it more pleasant to own today. Among the list of features is A/Cand#44; power windowsand#44; locksand#44; mirrorsand#44; and drivers seatand#44; and a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. The original radio has been replaced with a Kenwood AM/FM/CD head unitand#44; but that seems to be the lone modification. Bigand#44; round gauges keep an eye on the turbocharged sixand#44; and the leather-wrapped steering wheel features an airbagand#44; which is kind of a big deal if you remember those goofy motorized belts that they were still using in this time period. You get a bit of a back seat and a big cargo bayand#44; so the Supra is very user-friendly if youve got a family.

The 3.0 liter turbocharged inline-six is buried in the engine bayand#44; so theres not much to look atand#44; but thanks to turbochargingand#44; it has a ton of torque and pulls like a much bigger engine. The 7M-GTE powerplant has proven itself to be quite durable in the real worldand#44; and although they seem to take to modifications rather eagerlyand#44; this one remains bone stock right down to the hose clamps. Its extremely clean under the hoodand#44; more proof that the single owner really cared about maintaining this car. Turn the key and it firesand#44; as youd expectand#44; and theres a bit of a six-cylinder rasp to the exhaustand#44; although its largely muted by the turbocharger. The 4-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly and the all-independent suspension seems to have been tuned to offer a balance between handling and comfort. Andand#44; of courseand#44; you get big 4-wheel disc brakes. Stock 16-inch 5-spoke alloys look clean and unmarked and carry a recent set of Pirelli performance radials.

Were not going to try to convince you that this is an overnight money-makerand#44; but its a fun car with a ton of potential thats been treated right all its life. That alone is worth something and makes this Supra a standout. Call now!
