Only 500 Commemorative Edition900Tconvertibles were delivered to the U.S. market in 1994. They were the last 500 classic 900 convertibles to be built. They had the same performance modifications as the 1993 Commemorative Edition coupe with the exception of the lowerSPGsuspension. They all had the 5-speed manualtransmission,and came with the same uniquely styled wheels, walnut dashfacia, and leather gear knob and gaiter. The tan leather interior was further enhanced with black piping, which was exclusive to this model. The cars were all painted Nova Black Metallic (another feature exclusive to the 1994 Commemorative Edition) and had tan canvas tops. The 1994 CE vehicles did not have a plaque designating or celebrating the series. The VIN numbers do however run sequentially, the only Saab special edition series to do so.
This example was owned by the principle of a Virginia Saab Dealer for the past 15 years and also has the original window sticker, genuine Saab floormatsand the original convertible top boot. All paint is in amazing original condition as well as the leather interior. The tan convertible top is original and shows some wear as you would expect for a classic of this vintage.
The exterior of the car was Nova black metallic. It is the only SAAB model that had this color. It also hadtanleather interior likethe 1993,but the seats were given atwo-tone treatmentby adding charcoalgreypiping. All had tan canvas tops. It did not share the 1993 CEs lowered suspension. Only a limited number of 500 were produced for the U.S. market (VINsending in 008000-008500). They did not get the gold numbered badge like the 1993CEs. All included leather interior, aburledwalnut instrument panelfacia, aleather gear knoband boot, and special charcoal gray metallic directionalalloy wheelswith polished outer rims.
