2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello F1 VIN: ZFFBV55A420128898 Grigio Titanium with Black Leather Introduced as the flagship of the Ferrari line, the Maranello replaced a long line of mid-engined cars that began with the Berlinetta Boxer and was continued by the Testarossa. Meant to recapture the glory days of Ferrariandrsquo;s legendary front-engined sports cars (most notably the 275GTB and 365GTB/4 Daytona), the Maranello is an indisputably beautiful car. The Pininfarina styling is masculine and muscular without being overstated or excessively macho, and the proportions are spot-on. Originally introduced as the 550, the 575 replaced it in 2002, and brought a host of improvements in terms of styling and on the mechanical side as well. These included increasing the power to 515hp, larger brakes, improved aerodynamics, and many other minor changes. This particular example is a very well optioned 12,902 mile US market example, which is absolutely up-to-date on its service, having just had a no-expense-spared timing belt service performed, along with the installation of new engine mounts by Revolution Motorsport Inc in Agoura Hill, California in February of 2016 at a cost of more than $7,730, and has traveled less than 100 miles since completion. Previously, in 2012 at approximately 10,000 miles the clutch was replaced by Scuderia Rampante in Bolder, Colorado at a cost of over $13,000. In 2010, the dash was recovered by Ferrari of Denver, with 8,300 miles logged at that time. Service records on file shows us that this 575M is a proactively serviced example with timing belt changes at 4,200 and 8,900 miles in 2007 and 2012 respectively. It is optioned with the F1 paddle shift transmission, one-piece wheels, clear bra, aluminum painted brake calipers, Daytona seats, leather wrapped fire extinguisher, contrasting interior stitching, leather rear parcel shelf and leather headliner. Present with the car are all books and tools as originally delivered, a second key, and service documentation for the recent major services and general proactive no-expense-spared maintenance. The car can be described as nearly immaculate in every regard. Only the slightest road wear is evident on the forward facing panels, and there is only one small chip on the trailing edge of the driverandrsquo;s door. The interior, including the often problematic dash, is absolutely beautiful. The rear and side windows have been tinted. The wheels are nearly unmarked and wearing very good condition tires. The underside is free of damage and the engine bay sparkles as one would expect of a professionally cared for low mileage late model car. This is an extraordinarily appealing example of this attractive model. Itandrsquo;s beautiful and stately color combination, excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition, and low mileage make this car very desirable to the discerning Ferrari enthusiast wanting a freshly serviced turn-key example to enjoy NOW. We find the 550 and even more so, the 575 Maranellos, to be one of very few modern Ferraris with appreciating values, making this example both a rationally and emotionally appealing proposition. |
