This one of only 20 fitted with a 425 horsepower Saleen built S281E Engine. Unlike the stock Ford motor featured in the S281-SCand#44; the S281E engine was machined and up-fitted for severe race duty by Saleen. The MSRP tipped the scales at $70and#44;637.00 in 2002and#44; or 30% more than the Corvette Z06 offered the same year. The dollars went to racecar engineering and fine tuning prep for a car that was more than track capableand#44; the Extreme was track ready right off the showroom floor.
