Yesterday and todayand#44; theres still no bigger bang for the buck than the Ford Mustang. Whether its an early pony or this handsome 2004 Ford Mustang GT convertibleand#44; you get a lot of V8 performance and style for not a lot of cash. With just 66and#44;731 original miles and virtually zero modificationsand#44; this is a well-maintained Mustang thats ready to enjoy every day or just on those special occasions when the sun is shining. I dare you to find more performance and fun than this for less than twelve grand. The New Edge styling has aged rather well and this Mustang looks aggressive without being dated and thanks to excellent maintenanceand#44; it looks like it should be far more expensive than it is. The Crimson Red paint is the right choice for a Mustangand#44; not too flashy but appealing enough that people are going to ask what color it is when you stop at red lights. Its been washed and waxed regularlyand#44; just like a collector car would beand#44; and there are very few signs of it being a 13 year old car. The bumper is in excellent shapeand#44; the rockers havent been blasted by graveland#44; and all the black trim is darkand#44; not oxidized by the sun. You also get plenty of aggressive styling detailsand#44; including a hood scoopand#44; quarter panel scoopsand#44; and a rear wingand#44; not to mention fog lamps and a set of taillights that are an obvious tribute to the original. This is as real as Mustangs get. The handsome beige leather interior is far more comfortable and functional than anything they could have dreamed of in 1964 and for a convertibleand#44; its in shockingly good condition. The drivers seat shows some very minor comfort marksand#44; but no drynessand#44; crackingand#44; or split seams that come from sitting in the hot sun. The two-tone is subtleand#44; with darker tan carpets and a contrasting dash pad and inserts on the door panelsand#44; plus a two-tone leather steering wheeland#44; all of which makes it feel rather upscale inside. Everything was standard equipment on the GT convertibleand#44; including A/Cand#44; power windowsand#44; locksand#44; and mirrorsand#44; cruise controland#44; and a decent AM/FM/CD stereo that works well even with the top down. And speaking of the topand#44; its power-actuatedand#44; stowing itself in seconds and making a trim stack that doesnt need a boot to look good. Theres even a decent-sized back seat and functional trunk that makes this a car that works in the real worldand#44; not just on weekends. Fords 4.6 liter SOHC V8 needs no introductionand#44; and by the time this car was builtand#44; it was belting out 260 horsepower with that familiar Mustang V8 rumble. Its buttery smooth and bulletproof reliableand#44; and that shiny cold air intake tube seems to be the only notable modification. Thats good newsand#44; because you know it hasnt been raced or abused and if you need repairsand#44; you can follow the factory manual to get it done right. Its backed by an AOD-E 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission that makes it surprisingly thrifty on the highway (you can probably expect mid-20s if youre not mashing the throttle) and the GTs capable suspension makes it a lot of fun when the road starts to twists. Theres a flat torque curve that is always standing by to launch the car into the next corner and 4-wheel disc brakes are powerful enough to scrub just about any amount of speed without drama. And those gray alloy wheels do a great impression of vintage Torque Thrusts but are wearing modern-sized 245/45/17 performance radials. A lifetime warm-weather car with a clean history and great maintenanceand#44; this Mustang offers a ton of performance for not a lot of cash. Call now! |
