Celebrating its 40th Anniversary since the original, the Hertz Rent-a-Racer program returned in 2006 with just a limited number ofcars built! This is car #77 of 500 and shows only 30,707 original miles from new! A superbly documented original with all original delivery paperwork including MSO, books andamp; manuals, all keys, and so much more! Signed by Carroll Shelbyhimself! A Mustang collectors dream! Act quickly! In a collaborative effort with Ford Motor Company, Shelby American, and Hertz Rental LLC, the idea of a 40thAnniversary Shelby GT Rent-A-Racer was reborn in 2006. It was decided that only a limited production run of 500 Mustang GT Premium units would be delivered to Las Vegas for Shelbyandrsquo;s team to upgrade them both cosmetically andamp; mechanically to the GT-H. They became the lowest production, true Shelby-numbered production vehicles in modern day era!And according to the Fall 2015 issue of Shelby magazine, had it not been for the success of this new GT-H anniversary program, cars produced afterward like the Super Snake, GT500KR, or GT1000 would not likely have come to fruition. The GT-Hwould be the car that put Shelby back into the Mustang business! Having a Shelby GT-H in any collection is worth celebrating, now and in the future! As the original 1,000 Hertz Mustangs produced in 1966 soar into the six-figure collector car price arena, these 2006 40thAnniversary examples are sure to follow, especially now that Shelby andamp; Hertz recently unveiled the new 50thAnniversary example for 2016! Although, this time only 140 units will be built, rented to the public as promised, and later distributed to only a very lucky few. They are only going to get harder to secure as time goes on, especially with as much original documentation as this one! We are honored to have this 2006 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H, #77/500 on our showroom floor. Having just one private owner since it serviced the sunny Phoenix, AZ airport rental office, this example now shows only 30,707 original miles, of which about 16,000 miles were from the rental service. All 500 GT-H started as Black Mustang GT-Premium optioned cars, then shipped to the Las Vegas Shelby American facility for a modest make over. This included new performance suspension andamp; handling package, cold air intake, free-flowing exhaust with x-pipe, new 3.55 rear axle ratio, exclusive Shelby hood with locking pins, front bumper, andamp; grill fascia, body side scoops, over-the top Hertz Gold racing stripes, exterior andamp; interior badging, steel engine tether to prohibit engine tampering, and more! Our example remains 100% stock as it was built in 2006. Nothing changed or modified. More importantly, this one still possesses the original, factory Pirelli tires to support these claims. Finding one of the GT-H cars on the open market is difficult to do. When you find one like this one that comes with a stack of original, authentic documentation, you canandrsquo;t be anything but impressed! The original private owner of this early #77 GT-H was able to secure the original factory invoice sold to Hertz Corp, copy of Ford Certificate of Origin issued to Hertz Vehicles LLC, copy of window sticker, Shelby American invoice of added parts, both Ford andamp; Hertz sign check-in inspection sheets, traction control off pin to render the traction control on at all times, both original keys with Hertz key tags still attached, Shelby engraved andamp; numbered key tags specific to this very car, 40thAnniversary badge and extra CSM No plate never attached to the dash! And the passenger side interior A-pillar has been autographed by Carroll Shelby personally! A host of other memorabilia including Hertz/Sirius satellite receiver still intact with 2006 Brochure, city/state maps of Arizona, Shelby factory production images, magazine articles featuring the GT-H, and more! A very nice collection of interesting material all by itself. Since its inception from theprotection of the |
