And it still draws the same kind of jaw-dropping attention of its big brotherand#44; so get in and start having some fun. Thanks to a big infusion of cashand#44; engineering know-howand#44; and technology from Audiand#44; the Gallardo hit the market as a fully-formed supercar. No teething painsand#44; no public testingand#44; just a nastyand#44; high-speedand#44; mid-engined sports car that delivered on its outrageous looks. And this one is more outrageous than mostand#44; wearing vivid Giallo Midas paint (thats Pearl Yellow to us) and black trimand#44; youre sure to be the center of attention everywhere you go. But the Gallardo is more than a posers carand#44; its for the serious enthusiastand#44; and Lamborghini gives you the tools to make it dance. The conversion to an open-topped cabrio stole none of its sharp reflexes and adds the most wondrous exhaust note to the experience. That insanely expensive paint remains in outstanding conditionand#44; with only a few marks near the high-traffic door handlesand#44; but otherwise quite impressive. Of courseand#44; that shouldnt be a surpriseand#44; as cars like this are always well-maintained by passionate enthusiastsand#44; and having only been driven about 3100 miles per yearand#44; it should be no surprise that it looks so good. Despite its longand#44; low bodywork and the Italians reputation for odd driving positionsand#44; the Gallardo benefits from Audis interior designersand#44; making it extremely user-friendly. The black leather seats are beautifully stitched with contrasting yellow thread and just about everything you can touch is covered in some expensive material. The flat-bottomed steering wheel screams performance and the bigand#44; round gauges are easy to see when youre snapping through the gears using the paddle shifters. Audis entertainment system with a large screen makes it feel contemporary and modernand#44; the A/C is effectiveand#44; and the switches feel robustand#44; all welcome advances over the good oldand#44; bad old days of Italian exotics. The huge windshield controls wind buffeting and the black canvas top is power actuated and fully linedand#44; so it seals up far better than youd expect. Everything is in superlative conditionand#44; indicative of great care throughout its life and the wear is certainly in line with the mileage. The forward-mounted trunk isnt much for luggageand#44; but it does house an original tool kit and a CD changer. The 5.0 liter V10 engine was built for combat and loves to rev. V10s are a favorite of Formula One teamsand#44; and with this carand#44; its easy to see why. It screams to redline almost faster than you can reactand#44; and pulls like a freight train in every single gearand#44; all the while making the most spine-tingling sounds this side of the Mulsanne Straight. The V10 has proven itself to be almost indestructible in spirited useand#44; and youll never get tired of the way it hungrily spins through the gears. The 6-speed paddle-shifted transmission is quicker than you were on your best dayand#44; and a new clutch was installed a few years agoand#44; so no worries there. Obviously the car has never seen winter weather and you can probably count the number of rainy days its seen on one hand. The only notable modification are those black Asanti wheels which carry ultra-low-profile performance tires. An opportunity to buy one of the most thrilling cars in a generation for more than half off its sticker price.
